What were the best songs and albums you listened to in 2018? Who were the standout artists?

The New York Times has published its critics’ lists of best songs and albums of the year.

For instance, “I Like It” by Cardi B featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin made the best songs list, while Ariana Grande’s “Sweetener” made the best albums list.

Students, read the lists and listen to the critics’ playlists, then tell us:

— What is your favorite song and album from 2018? What’s your Top 10 for each?

— How closely do the critics’ picks match yours?

— In your opinion, what songs or albums were overlooked on the critics’ lists? Which picks are overrated? Explain.

— Did you discover any songs, albums or artists on the critics’ lists? If so, tell us about your discoveries and what you like about them.

— How did 2018 compare to 2017 for you in terms of musical quality? Would you consider 2018 to be a good music year? Why?
